Lyrical Miracle: From Palatka to Powder Springs to Paradise

My name is Gerald Bryant, my age is 32,
I put my rhymes on tape 'cause they don't stick to glue.
I'm a light-brown man with light-brown dimples.
And I got more blessings than the pimples on your temples.
God said He knew when I was in the womb.
He knew I'd like bass so he put me near the Boom
Bass Capital "The Blimp", scratchin' records in my room.
When I check out and chillin' in my tomb,
I will rise with Christ and feast with the Groom,
At the wedding table Soul Food I will consume.
Then after the wedding of the Savior to the Saints,
The thumpin' of the trumpets will be like earthquakes.
Rappin', rhymin' and praisin' will begin to commence,
On and poppin' like gum that's only 10 cents.
Like gum that comes from the old Brown Store,
That used to be Pink and ain't there no more.
On Washington Street and the corner of 16,
Brings back memories throwback scenes.
Of my youth that is proof that times were good,
Back then that when neighbors lived in the neighborhood.
We didn't always do right or do as we should.
But we always stuck together like leather nailed to some wood.
We cleaned out a lake, got chased by a snake,
Our butts got whooped because we tried to make
The lake by the rails our personal trails.
At least with butt whoopings we never saw jails.
Now I'm a li'l older, no hair down to my shoulders,
Stackin' mail by the bale sippin' on a cup of Folgers.
I'll watch my daughter grow up in Powder Springs
And teach her through Christ Jesus she can do all things,
That build up her strength to help her go the length,
To walk by faith not by sight or what other people think.

Lyrical Miracle: Peep the LORD

It's my turn to catch it, snatch it,
Scratch, patch, and match it
To bless Scrooges like my name was Bob Cratchet,
Found Christ "Duh-nuh nuh-nuh nit" like Inspector Gadget.
But without Brain or Penny, or Squiggy and Lenny.
Just the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost within me.
Peep the LORD's recipe for a rhyming beat writer
You need a street fighter With a heat igniter,
Pulling an all-nighter To snipe all the biters.
Whip it up, Stir it up into a frothy frenzy,
Everyone will envy Jesus working in me.
Shake it up, Bake it up until its light brown,
Turn the lights down, see I'm done now.
But that's just how this lyrical rhyme miracle
Creative Southern native, Faithful, Grateful, Spiritual-
Minded, Joker thought provoker, Palatka Nuke Reactor
Lives life to the Max without the Factor.
Onto the next the chapter of this Ragin' Rapper.
Frat founder and former member of Ima Popya Cappa.
Jesus I'm Reppin' with a Weapon of Mass Determination
Preach God's sole goal of sin's extermination. A nation
of millions is now nation with trillions of ducats in buckets
while billions can't even eat the fat and drink the sweet, what's this?
While the poorest of the poor face wars and rumors of wars,
They don't know one day we'll study war no more.
Peep the LORD who'll wipe away every tear from their eye
If they'll draw near and give Christ a try
Instead of getting over, getting by,
Getting 'round, getting along and getting high.
Why? Getting up, getting out just to get something.
Without eternal life their life is eternally suffering.
No buffering from Bufferin or even Aspirin
Just hot like Florida heat, weeping and gnashing
their teeth, the Deceiver's deceit
Cast them out and cashed them out with no receipt.
But this Believer's belief is the Lord of Hosts, my Chief
Will real soon creep and come in just like a thief
In the night with the power and might
To separate goats to the left and sheep to right.
Peep the LORD, get Right or get Left behind
Deaf, dumb, and blind
Half out your mind
Seek Christ you'll find
His love is kind
He won't remind
He won't rewind
Past wrongs He'll grind
So redeem the time
For the days are evil- Evil are the days
If you're redeemed shout, clap, speak out "Give Him the praise!"
Then turn around and pull the next one out the flames
Until a billion lost become a billion written names
Written down in the Lambs' Book of Life
Eternal life's eternal gain with no strife.
Let His holy holla, holla Hallelujah
Peep this LORD, you get the praise that's due ya!

A graduate at last!!

My wife and I have been taking night courses for bachelor degrees at Strayer University both online and at our local Georgia campus. We both transferred our credits from our previous colleges and were allotted the same number of credits. I was hesitant to go back to college at the age of 32 so as an incentive I decided to take the remaining courses required to earn the Associates degree.  All I had to do then was pass 1/3 of the courses left in the Bachelor's program pay $125 US and pick up my degree from the campus office (which as of this writing I have done). I am still in school until Fall 2007, if I don't continue on with the Master program.

Oh by the way it is a degree in Computer Information System with a concentration in, what else, Programming. The Mrs. is in the Business Management program (she already has an Associate of Business Administration degree under her fashionable belt).

UPDATE: 1 more quarter (Fall 2007) to go before before we earn our Bachelor degrees!!

This is the place for your comments and questions. Take a minute to post. That is what makes the web a community.

BTW, I got the idea to use a Blog entry as the sole link on a Custom List from this msn Spaces blog, freefreshfish. His ingenious guestbook is here. This is a biased statement but computer programmers are way clever people.
